#6 -- Say thanks. Notice early efforts, even for the most modest of referrals. When others see that we notice, that they&#039;re trying, they&#039;re more likely to try again.

#7 -- Return the favor. Better yet, start by giving first. Try to find ways to support your connections&#039; businesses, whether it&#039;s referrals or &quot;I was thinking about your business&quot; ideas. Never leave your referral network wondering if they are working harder to support your business than you are working to support theirs.
